CEIR webinar on PFAS | Friday 16/06/23 | 14.00 - 15.15 CEST

Monday 12 June 2023

On the 16th of June, from 14.00 to 15.15 CEST, an insightful webinar is being organized to delve into the proposal to restrict the manufacturing, use, and placing on the market of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS).

The focus of this webinar will be the PFAS restriction proposal presented to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) by Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden. This proposal is currently open for public consultation until September 25, 2023. It's a significant development, with potential wide-reaching implications across industries.

PFAS, used in materials such as Fluoroelastomers (FKM) and Perfluoroelastomers (FFKM), are vital in seals and gaskets for industrial valves. Similarly, materials like Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), PFA, ETFE, and PVDF find applications in pipes, expansion joints, and coatings associated with valve systems in industrial settings. Any restrictions could have a significant impact on manufacturers relying on these materials.

This webinar is aimed at providing a platform for discussions on these developments. Attendees can expect to receive updates on the ongoing discussions, gain insights into the potential impact on the industry, and understand the actions needed for participation in the public consultation.

We are delighted to have Stefanie Facklam, Chair of Europump’s PFAS Working Group alongside Vinzio Pascal, CEIR Vice President and Chair of the BIV Technical Commitee. Both of whom bring deep knowledge and understanding of the topic and promise an enlightening session.

CEIR webinars are for CEIR members, associate members and the companies’ members of CEIR national associations as well as invited stakeholders.

We are delighted for the support of EUROPUMP and we are looking forward to welcoming Europump members.
