CEIR calls on European Institutions to reach an ambitious compromise on the revised EPBD
CEIR fully supports the objective of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD): reduce the energy consumption of buildings. We support the ambitious approach of the European Parliament adopted in the Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) Committee report.
We believe that the final agreement on the revised Directive should encourage the installation of thermostatic radiator valves and hydronic balancing in buildings – as proposed in the European Parliament amendments. This will bring benefits for all European citizens and the environment, and will contribute to achieving EU climate and energy objectives.
Therefore, CEIR calls on the European Parliament and the EU Presidency to ensure that the EPBD delivers its objective. The ongoing trialogue negotiations should shape the revised Directive to make energy efficiency a reality for all European buildings.
